The record
China Railway 15 Bureau Group took over the Melamchi tunnel completion contract in 2019 after the original Italian contractor CMC di Ravenna walked off site in December 2018. CRC15B completed the remaining ~7% of tunnel work and water reached Sundarijal on 28 March 2021 — a delivery milestone Nepal had pursued since 2000.
