In April 2026, the Balen Shah-led government issued eight ordinances. While some of these, including the Cooperative (First Amendment), Public Procurement (Second Amendment), Money Laundering (Prevention) (Third Amendment), and certain Nepal Laws related to Health Sciences Institutions Ordinances, were replaced by bills that passed the House of Representatives and were sent to the National Assembly, others did not meet the required timeline.
These remaining ordinances were set to expire or become void by July 10, 2026, if they were not approved by both houses of Parliament within the 60-day constitutional deadline.
