Remittance Inflows Rise 33% in Dollar Terms in First Ten Months of Fiscal Year

Remittance inflows to Nepal rose sharply in the ten months ending mid-May 2026, reaching NPR 1,916.90 billion — a 41.2% increase in Nepali rupee terms and a 33.0% increase in US dollar terms compared to the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year.

In the single month from mid-April to mid-May 2026, remittances totalled NPR 257.49 billion, up from NPR 165.30 billion in the same month a year earlier, reflecting continued strong migration-driven inflows that remain a central pillar of Nepal's external balance.
