Both chambers of Nepal's Federal Parliament endorsed four presidential ordinances on June 19, 2026. The House of Representatives and the National Assembly each cleared the four measures on the same day, converting them into law.
The ordinances ratified are: the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance, the Prevention of Money Laundering (Third Amendment) Ordinance, the Cooperatives (First Amendment) Ordinance, and an ordinance amending certain Nepal Acts related to Health Sciences Academies.
All eight ordinances had originally been issued by President Ramchandra Paudel in April 2026 on the recommendation of the government. The government chose to bring only four before Parliament for ratification. The remaining four ordinances are expected to become automatically invalid, as they were not presented within the constitutionally required timeframe for parliamentary approval.
