Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) announced on June 24, 2026, that it will withdraw Rs 70 billion from the banking system for a period of 79 days as part of its liquidity management operations. The withdrawal will be conducted through a competitive bidding process, with an online auction held the same day.

Both the principal and accrued interest are scheduled for repayment on September 11, 2026. The move signals the central bank's active management of excess liquidity currently present in the financial system.
