Nepal secured significantly less than its foreign aid mobilization target during the last fiscal year, according to a report on August 4, 2026. The country managed to achieve only 45.66 percent of the planned amount.
This shortfall was largely attributed to sluggish capital expenditure within the country. Foreign Minister Khanal has emphasized the need for aligning policies with national priorities and improving the utilization of non-tariff facilities available to Nepal as a Least Developed Country.
