A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Govinda Bahadur Karki at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers addressed the ongoing tightness in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market. The meeting concluded that the shortage was primarily due to consumer panic buying, rather than an actual supply deficit.
In response, the government has decided to secure imports exceeding 50,000 metric tons monthly for the next three months. This measure aims to stabilize the market in anticipation of the upcoming Dashain festival and address consumer concerns.
