A high-level meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Govinda Bahadur Karki at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, addressed the tightness in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market. The meeting concluded that the shortage was primarily due to consumer panic buying.
To stabilize the market ahead of the Dashain festival, the government decided to increase cooking gas imports to over 50,000 metric tons monthly for the next three months.
