Nepal and Germany concluded bilateral development cooperation negotiations in Kathmandu on June 16–17, 2026, reaffirming their long-standing partnership. Germany committed up to €37.6 million in technical and financial cooperation for 2026–2027, covering renewable energy, energy efficiency, power distribution, climate-resilient agriculture, revenue sector reform, quality infrastructure, gender equality, and access to finance.

The package includes both new initiatives and continuations of ongoing programmes implemented through KfW Development Bank, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the German National Metrology Institute (PTB). Germany also indicated continued support through multilateral mechanisms including United Nations agencies and global health initiatives.
