The Council of Ministers, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, endorsed the 2023 Report of the Study and Investigation Committee concerning the purchase and sale of Ncell Axiata shares.
The report concluded that the ownership transfers of the telecom operator lacked transparency. It recommended that the latest share transaction should not be approved in its current form.
Further regulatory, legal, and investigative action is expected based on the committee's findings. The government also decided to make the Ncell probe report public and implement its suggestions.
