The Nepal Council of Ministers, in decisions reported on August 13, 2026, granted consent to the Portuguese government to establish a consular office in Kathmandu. Additionally, Nirmal Kumar Upreti of Bara was appointed as the Executive Director of the Foreign Employment Board.
Among other administrative decisions, Rajendra Kumar KC and Madhav Sapkota were appointed as members of the Privatization Committee. Permission was also granted for Attorney General Dr. Dinmani Pokharel to attend the 28th Annual Conference and General Assembly of the International Association of Prosecutors. Urban Development Minister Sita Gurung was permitted to attend an infrastructure investment-related program in the Netherlands, and Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet was allowed to attend the 'Global Congress in Population, Health and Development' conference in Egypt.
