The Asian Development Bank signed two separate loan agreements with Nepal at the Ministry of Finance on July 6, 2026. The package includes a $115 million concessional loan for the Integrated Water Supply and Sewerage Management Project and a $50 million policy-based loan to modernize customs administration and support trade.

The water and sanitation loan is expected to benefit more than 850,000 people across 13 municipalities. The customs loan is part of subprogram 2 of the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation Customs and Logistics Reforms Program, aimed at boosting trade and creating jobs.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle and ADB President Masato Kanda were present at the signing ceremony.
